Hearts of Chaos opens on Kite Hill at Gas Works Park, right after the battle against Kingu that took place at the end of Hearts of Shadow. We stopped by Gas Works on our tour of Deadglass Seattle on Tuesday, and I took a pretty expansive panorama of the view from Kite Hill so you can see what Lucia sees when she looks out over Lake Union. You might want to click on it to see it larger. Gas Works Park from Kite Hill Lucia glanced across Lake Union to where dusk backlit the ruined towers of downtown Seattle. The battle had taken place at the… Read more »

12937726604_52c217c08dHearts of Chaos is out this week, and I’m talking about the mythology that inspired the series over at Anna’s Book Blog. Please join me! I’m also talking about the Kivati tearoom over at Sherida Stewart’s blog, and she shares a recipe for Cinnamon and Sunflower Seed Cookies that look delicious. Do you drink tea or coffee? I’m a big tea drinker living in a coffee town, but we are getting more and more boutique tea opportunities here too. I’m a big fan of the Queen Mary Tearoom, where Sherida and I have taken a delightful afternoon tea many times.… Read more »

Hearts of Chaos Praise for Hearts of Chaos “Seamlessly weaving threads of Babylonian, Norse, and Northwest Native American fables, Brady creates a dark, rich tapestry. A month ago I gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy! He is a tiny munchkin, but is growing fast. I haven’t been online much in the past month because we’ve been doing the desperate “sleep, baby, sleep!” routine. Tiny baby, giant lungs. It’s amazing he hasn’t woken up his big sister in the middle of the night yet. She is still enjoying being a big sister and loves to give the baby kisses. She calls him, “our baby.” It’s pretty cute. Kira and Baby To celebrate, I’m giving away five more Hearts of Shadow ARCs on Goodreads. You have one month… Read more »
