Romance Novel March Madness, officially the DABWAHA or Dear Author Bitchery Award for Hella Good Authors (or something like that), is officially underway. Today was the day to fill out your brackets, in which I hope a great many of you had faith in the underdog, HEARTS OF DARKNESS, and put it to go all the way to the final round. You did, didn’t you? (Don’t forget there are awards for the worst bracket!)
Have you missed all the hullabaloo?
I’ve been a big fan of the romance review blogs Smart Bitches Trashy Books and Dear Author from the beginning of my writing career and remember fondly filling out my bracket for the very first DABWAHA. It’s awesome and humbling to have my own book up there competing against the big dogs (I’m looking at you, Nalini). The prizes have only gotten fancier, the trash talk louder, the bribes more alluring. Meljean has offered to write a short story on her blog if her book makes it to the final round. I might vote for her just so I can read it.
I’m required, of course, to be my own biggest advocate, but you probably already guessed I’m not so good at tooting my own horn. This is going to be my only plea: VOTE FOR ME!
